Heather’s Vlog “Heather checks out getfanged.com and Grampires?” | A Web Series Review on The Watch List
A Vampire Comedy Web Series
4 Swirlies
“I got this new leather jacket. The guy who was wearing it was delicious.”
This is the second episode in a row from the web series Heather’s Vlog that is Heather and her Dad talking about internet stuff.
There’s about half or three quarters of a minute at the end that’s vintage Heather’s Vlog, and is hilarious. The first half, they’re checking out getfanged.com, which, it turns out, is a real thing. And it is more a chance to rehash jokes about Facebook than anything really fresh. Once they start getting rolling on confusing Tony Danza for Billy Crystal, it takes off into the types of laughs that this series is capable of.
I think both the previous video and this are designed to bring in new views by connecting with other popular stuff. It can be a smart of promoting yourself online, but I don’t think it makes the best fodder from story or comedy.

Heather’s Vlog “Heather and Her Dad Watch Rebecca Black Video” | A Web Series Review on The Watch List
A Vampire Comedy Web Series
3 Swirlies
“Back in the day, you had to work to be famous. Like Aretha Franklin and Pee Wee Herman.”
We’ve been so focused on keeping on top of the current shows that we are following, that I forgot to keep an eye on one of my favourite series, Heather the Vampire! I see there’s been a few posts since Heather’s return, and here’s the first one.
I gotta say, maybe I’m in a bad mood today, because I wasn’t blown away, despite how excited I was to see it. There’s some funny bits, but really they’re just making fund of Rebecca Black and not doing their usual shtick. I think maybe that was the point, I get the feeling this is a micro-episode, not a full on episode. It is kinda of my fault – I’m sure when the video was first posted was much closer to the debut of Rebecca Black’s video than it is today.
Anyway, the world still hasn’t gotten over Rebecca Black, so do yourself a favour and watch Heather and her dad’s take on it. Like I say, there’s some funny bits.
And I look forward to Heather’s next video.

Heather’s Vlog: Heather the Vampire Returns
Heather’s been away for a while. Here’s why.
5 Swirlies!
“It’s like the Donner Party in here. We have to eat something! I can only suck myself for so long.”
Yay! More Heather the Vampire!
Heather and her Dad explain why they haven’t posted in about a year – they’ve been hiding in a closet.
If you haven’t seen Heather before, you’re in for a treat. The interaction between between Heather and her dad is hysterical – in both senses of the word. This is one of my favorite shows on YouTube.
These episodes just make me feel good. Welcome back, Heather.

“Here’s the Vampire Food Pyramid”
I thought I’d catch up on some of the series that I had liked in the past, so of course I started with one of my favourites, Heather’s Vlog.
For those playing catch up, the much-too-subtlely-named Heather’s Vlog is a straight to the camera two hander with a teenage vampire and her Dad.
I love this series. I think the back and forth between Heather and her Dad is a lot of fun. Very charming. What really makes it is Heather’s spot on teenager reactions to her Dad’s outrageous comment.
I was disappointed to see that there hasn’t been a new episode since December 2009. But I did take a look at the latest video in the channel Heather’s Vlog appears on. So that’s my next post! I hope I like it as much!
In the meantime, hit play!

Heather’s Vlog – It’s Hereditary
http://liamshow.com Heather explains how vampires become vampires.

“It’s kinda like marrying a hamburger. You can hold off for a while but eventually you’re gonna eat it.”
You can convert?
Another ep from the backlog of Heather’s Vlog. This one is about two two ways you can become a vampire; you’re either born a vampire or you can convert.
Not the funniest episode of the few I’ve seen, but there’s still one or two big laughs. Still very much worth seeing.

Heather’s Vlog – [Episode 1]
http://liamshow.com Kelly’s friend Heather started a vlog to get the bloody truth out there about vampires…because she is one. Happy Friday the 13th!!!

“Yes, once and for all, vampires celebrate Christmas.”
Heather Begins…
This is the first episode of Heather’s Vlog and the second one I’ve seen, and it is already something of a guilty pleasure. I’m kinda embarrassed how much I like it. Unlike a lot of stuff I watch (web or TV) Heather and her Dad surprise me and actually make me laugh out loud.
In this introductory episode, Heather explains what her Vampire family does to celebrate Christmas, while Dad tries to watch the skating he TIVOed.
It’s charming and feels honest. It doesn’t feel like they are trying too hard. I’m not sure if it is improvised, semi-improvised, or scripted but the characters are more strongly drawn in a short time than most anything else out there. All without sacrificing the gags needed to make a short online comedy episode work. I wish I could strap Fred down and make him watch it until he gets it. And, yes I know, the guy’s name isn’t actually Fred.
In going back to find the start of this series, I figured a little more out about how it came to be. It is some sort of spin off from something called Kelly Shoes – that’s where the clips from the nano-second long opening is from. And after watching it for the tenth time, the line, “Kelly rocks” makes more sense. But I have no idea who or what this Kelly Shoes person or show is. Why is it presented as if we all know it? I can’t even find any videos of it on Youtube! (If you do, put your links in the comments section.)
Heather’s Vlog is my current favourite comedy web series, and one of my favourite shows, period. Get ready to see a lot more of them posted as I go through the back catalog!
So, would this the first web series spin off? And if not, what would? I have a vague idea that lonelygirl15 had some sort of spin off…
