Suck And Moan Ep. 1 “It Begins…”

When the world is overrun with zombies, what happens to the vampires who’ve been feeding on humans all along? 1 part Zombieland, 1 part Shaun of the Dead, and 2 parts Clerks, this satirical web series follows a group of overly analytical vampires who find themselves knee deep in a race to preserve a newly dwindling food source.

This series mashes up zombies and vampires. It seems there’s a lot of attempts to blend sub-genres within the monster/sci tropes.

One thing I do like is the hilarious fake newscast about the zombie virus, with experts advising people to wash their hands to avoid turning into a zombie.

This episode is a lot of set up, but it works, especially once we get into the actual zombie outbreak. Although the acting could be a little stronger, the characters of the two vampires are well done. And, as opposed to other genre mashups, it feels like it has a fresh point of view to the material. So give it a watch and then check back in when I get a chance to post episode 2!
