Adam enlists his Lurchy, paper-eating friend Bill to guard him during an “emergency meeting of the minds,” which he’s called with Mitch and Meowla to discuss the future of the MEOWLA: THE WEBSERIES. Hilarity ensues. Oh wait. That’s pretty much the summary of the show.

Adam complains that Meowla is impossible to work with, because he’s prone to hide come shoot-time. Adam’s determined that Meowla’s holding back the show, yet somehow it’s Mitch who ends up quitting/getting fired. Natch (naturally), Adam already has a brand new webseries all ready to go!!! Featuring MEOW, a sour-faced Persian cat.

When will the show come back??????????? What will happen to Meowla??? Is Mitch going to make a webseries of his own ???????????????

“Mitch. Don’t you see? This is it. After overcoming all of my psychological obstacles I must face my greatest challenge: my own histamines.”

HAHAHAHA!!!!

This is a must-watch if you’re a Degrassi fan. So Mitch catches Adam watching Degrassi on TV, then tells Adam that he grew up with Jake Epstein (i.e. Craig Manning on Degrassi), in fact, and that the two are due for a visit. So Mitch invites Jake Epstein to come over to discuss the future of the webseries. Adam is super skeptical. Then when Jake Epstein shows up at their door, Adam gets all fanboyish about Craig Manning.

Then things get kind of WEIRD. They interact as Craig Manning (fictional) and Adam Goldhammer, and the whole thing is kind of manic/depressive (a la Craig), not to mention slightly disturbing. Up and down, up and down… but there are some really hilarious exchanges as Craig Manning recaps his high school/drugged up rockstar years.

Then it turns out that Craig/Jake Epstein is allergic to cats. So he takes a bunch of Reactine pills and plays some songs on his guitar. He still wants to act opposite Meowla, because it will be the pinnacle of his growth as an actor.

This episode is really funny. I think the actors are great. And I think I’ve figured out this show. Basically Mitch finds everybody annoying. But that’s why the show is so good!

Little Cat Version Of Me – Jake @$#ing Epstein (Craig) (Ep. 10)

In this episode Adam devises a plan to get his sparkle on by going to see Twilight in theaters with his sister. It can’t fail. Hilarity ensures.

Oh my god. This is the funniest Meowla episode yet. If you thought Adam and nerdy Dave were annoying, then you HAVE to meet Adam’s sister Alex. Alex is pretty much just Adam stuffed into the body of a hyper and hysterical twelve-year-old teenybopper who’s taken a bunch of speed and chugged seven Red Bulls.

So Alex shows up at Mitch and Adam’s apartment so that she and Adam can go to see the new Twilight together. Mitch’s reaction to Alex is just PERFECT. He goes from dreading her presence to joining in with her high-pitched hysterical pleading — all so he can sabotage Adam’s plans to pick up vulnerable women at the movies. Although they turn out to be too young and/or ugly for his tastes, anyway.

WATCH IT!!! Alex is soooooooooooo funny!!!!!!!!!! The actors have hilarious chemistry. Adam wears a hilarious ponytail at the beginning. I have a crush on all of these guys. Except for Adam. If I saw these guys on the street I would be all like, Oh my god. I NEED your autograph. And maybe a clipping of your hair when you get your hair cut next. Can we be friends?

I think Purple Duck Films have mastered everything in here — the sound, editing, pacing, props and wardrobe, script, timing, and all of the other things that come together to make a show really good. Thanks for the lulz!!!!

I think I’ve figured out why I like these guys. They just seem so … real. Like, I would die from horror if I met them and discovered that they were not really Mitch and Adam. Well first I might swoon.

Each episode is better and funnier than the next, and the direction, shooting, and editing are tighter than before, and Mitch and Adam become more and more Mitch and Adam. The jokes are consistently funny. And Meowla is cute in the bicycle basket. This show is cool because you end up somewhere subtly different from where you thought you would go.

If you thought Adam was the most annoying character on Little Cat Version of Me, then you haven’t met Dave. Dave’s voice is squeaky and he’s just off enough to make you almost uncomfortable. Adam tries to rip Dave off by promising him one hundred doll hairs (not dollars) for making the Little Cat Version of Me website, without realizing that Dave might actually want the doll hairs. Dave threatens Adam with the human centipede. Blechhhhhh!!!!!

My only criticism is that the scene at the end could be subtler somehow. But still, solid. I LOLed through this one.

In this episode, Adam comes up with his most brilliant Meowla marketing ploy yet: to sell Meowla ringtones (MeowTonez) for like eight bucks. Of course Mitch is all like, “God, Adam. All of your ideas suck. It isn’t 2003 anymore.” This episode makes clever LOL-worthy use of the “I Am T-Pain” iPhone app. And while Adam’s clueless, reckless, gung ho attitude is no match for Mitch’s perpetual eyeroll, I admire his effort.

I wouldn’t buy the Meowtonez but would consider buying the I Am T-Pain app. Thanks, guys.

Little Cat Version of Me deals with some very deep and challenging questions. Such as: how do you make your webseries go viral? In this episode, Mitch and Adam try to work out a strategy for getting a lot of Youtube views. Cats are out, obviously. So check out Adam’s brilliant idea: make a video that features lots of boobs, and set the preview image/thumbnail to a shot of someone’s chest. The story in this episode is intercut with clips of Meowla the cat pawing at some girl’s boobs.

Did they get a million youtube hits? The count right now is 2074. Maybe we’ll keep an eye on it.

Watch it. Adam is kind of ridonkulous. This show always makes me LOL. Possible explanations: It’s actually pretty funny, or I’m just easily amused. And really immature. Anyway, chekkit out! The cat likes drugs!

In this episode, Mitch and Adam have an argument over the star of Dune. Is it David Bowie or Sting? The loser of the bet has to wear a diaper. Anyway, I heard someone complain that Mitch and Adam are too good-looking to be likable. I want to tell that person: Dude, this episode is a must-see! Half naked guy with adorable kitty! Sting! Totally likable! Ten thumbs up!

I gave this episode 4 Swirlies because of the creepy MEOWLA segment featuring Adam and his ghastly beard, dressed in nothing but a diaper, and lifting a bediapered Meowla as if in a ritual sacrifice. CREEPY but kind of lol. But yeah, I don’t know what happened to the last Swirlie.

So apparently Adam Goldhammer was interviewed by blogTO back in the summer. Trollish comments from Debbie Downer said things like, “it suks” and “give up man,” and these guys even get a bit of flak for being like a shitty version of Jake and Amir. Well, I say: Haters, STFU. While the premise (a webseries about two guys trying to come up with an idea for a webseries) isn’t particularly profound, the show is still funny. This writing is clever, and the jokes are solid. And, in this episode, there’s a pretty funny clown. I don’t usually like clowns, but this guy’s OK. The short of it is that the guys take a pretty “meh” concept but execute it pretty well. More reviews to come — some of the next episodes really did had me LOLing. Stay tuned!!
