Bob and Andrew Ep.1
Bob must find a way to let Lauren know he’s gay without confronting her directly. Because he’s awkward and newly out of the closet. Andrew suggests Bob find a convenient boyfriend and let Lauren see them together thereby inferring Bob’s sexuality without them ever having to talk about it. However, this turns out to be more complicated than originally planned.
4 Swirlies
“What about a short-term relationship of convenience rife with abundant gay lifestyle cliches such as musical taste, dress, language in order to demonstrate to a co-worker that you’re homosexual?”
There’s a lot of things to admire about the power of web series, but one is the ability to tell stories by, for and about communities that aren’t allowed a place on mainstream TV.
Which is not to ghetto-ize this series, that comes out of the gate with a strong episode that’s about the characters while still setting up the situations and plots.
It’s on the long side for a web series, but there’s three distinct “acts” in the episode, which feels nice since so many web series episodes are essentially one scene.
The production qualities leave a little to be desired, and the acting is little stilted, but the dialogue and characters are very funny. I love the chemistry between the two leads, each are strong but competing personalities. I hope all the rest of the episodes are as strong as this one!
