Vampire Zombie Werewolf Ep. 1
Posted on November 5th, 2010 2 commentsThere are at least three things more terrifying than trying to finance a webseries in Hollywood.
Take a guess what those three things are.

VZW is a new Webseries from KATR Pictures. Episode 2 coming next week!
2 Swirlies
“You know, food that you serve to people.”
Before we get going, let me just mention it is always risky having a long opening sequence. Many people are gone after 20 seconds.
What I first noticed and admired about this show is the use of bright, bold colours. The product is very nicely done. The music is good, if a little intrusive and jokey. The editing and sound editing is tight, which is something that is a lot harder than the average person would ever think.
I wish it was funnier off the bat. There’s a few chuckles through out, but it feels like the whole thing is one big stall until the reveal at the end – a reveal that is sorta given away by the title. (I don’t think I’m ruining the surprise for anyone.)
But, as I have said in these pages before, pilots are very hard. I’ll being you their next episode when they post it and see what you think then.

Hey, thank for taking the time to watch!
I hope you watch the second episode too. Especially since these episodes aren’t stand-alone.
I am a bit perplexed by the 2 Swirly (which equals “bad”) rating after reading the actual review though, I have to say. That long intro must have really gotten under your skin

Hey Robb!
Thanks for your comment.
I try to talk about what I like about the show. My goal is to encourage people to watch the episode, even if it not really for me – which is a general comment and not how I feel about your show. (Yes, there are some shows that I’m pretty hard on, which probably undermines that goal, but I try to be honest too.) And yes, absolutely I’ll watch the second episode. I just can’t promise when. I try to keep on top of as many series as I can. It’s a losing battle.
It’s tough with numerical ratings, on such a small scale. I also tend to be harder on pilots/first episodes. They’re really hard to pull off, and often once the show gets into the real episodes I enjoy them more.
Thanks for taking the time to comment and being nice about it. I appreciate it!
